La Bella 2001BB 8 String Bass Boomer Bass Guitar Strings, 50-105
These are really nice strings. I have an Ibanez BTB405 and the low B string that came with it snapped within a couple weeks. These La Bella’s have been on for almost 3 months now with daily 2-3 hour practice sessions and no problems. They have a good amount of tension, which is what I wanted since the Ibanez has passive pickups. The tone is fantastic too, very articulate and clear even with all 8 strings going at once.
The only downside is that they’re a bit pricey, but they’re definitely worth it in my opinion.
Thomastik Infeld PowerBrights Electric Guitar Strings, .012-.052
Thomastik-Infeld PowerBrights electric guitar strings are designed for players who want more power and punch from their pickups. The PowerBrights are made with a proprietary alloy that Thomastik-Infeld says gives the strings more “body” and “resonance.” The result is a string that’s supposed to have more mid-range and low-end frequencies, which in turn should make your guitar sound fuller and more aggressive.
I’ve been using the PowerBrights for about a month now, and I have to say I’m impressed. I’ve always been a fan of Thomastik-Infeld’s products, but these strings really do step up the game. The tone is noticeably fuller and more aggressive, yet still very well balanced. The low end is definitely beefier, but it doesn’t come at the expense of the highs; they’re still nice and crisp. And the overall feel of the string is fantastic – they’re very comfortable to play and don’t seem to wear down as quickly as other strings I’ve used.
If you’re looking for an electric guitar string that’ll give you a little bit more power and punch, I definitely recommend checking out Thomastik-Infeld’s PowerBrights. They may cost a bit more than other strings on the market, but in my opinion, they’re worth every penny.
